Chargers fire defensive coordinator

Cottrell’s dismissal comes two days after the Chargers lost to Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints, 37-32 in London. Brees threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns. The Chargers have the worst pass defense in the NFL.

The Chargers have lost three of four after entering the season as a Super Bowl favorite.

Rivera interviewed for the head coaching job that went to Norv Turner in March 2007.

Man, what I wouldn't give to see Payton do the same!

Thats the way you let someone go. Give them a shot, give them a chance. And when you have a HORRIBLE loss and the worst past defense in the league, THEN you fire them (with good cause).

Not this tantrum firing stuff.. that just makes you look foolish..

I would bet my bottom dollar that Singletary was told in no uncertain terms that if he wasn't publically visible whipping his team into shape, his ass was fired too!

And when you have a HORRIBLE loss and the worst past defense in the league, THEN you fire them (with good cause). Not this tantrum firing stuff.. that just makes you look foolish..
