Lions will select Georgia QB Matthew Stafford
With the first pick in this weekend's draft the Detroit Lions will select QB

The Detroit Lions and University of Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford have agreed to a six-year deal, meaning he will be the first pick of the 2009 NFL draft.
The Lions, which were 0-16 last season also have 20th overall selection, one second-round pick and two third-round selections.

The most polished prospect in this year's draft has the combination of size, arm strength, accuracy and pocket skills to possibly make him the No.¤1 overall pick. Although he left school early, he started 34 games for the Bulldogs, throwing for 7,731 yards, 51 touchdowns and 33 interceptions.
